Winner Peter is green champion with Nottingham Forest!

Peter Nathanail, from Bramcote designed a poster which will now be used by SCRIB, the Steel Can Recycling Information Bureau, to help teach children all around Britain how to keep green.

Yes You Can was a recycling challenge organised by SCRIB, the steel can recycling information bureau, an education initiative which promotes sustainability in schools. Endorsed by Nottingham Forest, school pupils were challenged to prove their green credentials by designing a colourful recycling poster!

Talented Peter who attends Trent College in Nottingham has been rewarded for his effort in the Yes You Can challenge by Nottingham Forest FC, winning tickets to a match for him and his classmates.

Peter’s winning design was chosen by Nottingham Forest and SCRIB for its originality, use of colour and message: “steel can recycling is the cleaner, greener option!”

Peter is dedicated to the environment and is very excited about going to watch Nottingham Forest in action and said: "I am really pleased to have won. I am a passionate recycler and I think competitions like these are great for advertising the importance of the matter. Prizes like football tickets that everybody likes are great incentives to recycle.”

SCRIB’s Nicola Bennett commented: “Peter’s design not only shows his creativity but it is eye catching and is something other pupils will respond to. Not only will it be appearing on the SCRIB website but we will be using it in school visits throughout the UK to help promote steel can and other materials (or packaging) recycling. I want to thank Peter and all the other pupils who entered, as the standard of entries was very high indeed. I am now looking forward to visiting Peter’s class to teach the pupils even more about recycling.”

Nottingham Forest’s Benjamin White said: ‘Nottingham Forest would like to congratulate Peter for his winning design, the club are happy to support an initiative which can have a positive effect on our environment’
